"The door" is a two-part artwork, featuring an oil painting and a digital generative work that invites us to contemplate the role of our choices in shaping our destiny when we encounter a closed door.
'Expansion' is a digital generative visualization - we have the entire universe within us.
A three-way collaboration: James, a violinist begins playing music. Kelly Briggs responds to James' music by drawing. An algorithm by Shivani picks up Kelly's body movements and creates a digital image of snow dispersing on a screen, to which James responds by altering his music...
"Hologram of Our Universe” is made from cracked mirror with colored light streaming through the cracks. It is like an image of our expansive and ethereal universe floating in mid-air on the ceiling in the gallery.
"Portrait of Our Universe" is a three-dimensional cracked mirror, encased in a box frame, and hung like a painting. Light shines through the cracks which appear as a web of interconnections. It is as if the boundaries between you and me blur when the light shines, making our individual identities indistinguishable from the magnificent portrait of our universe.
